(Before Illness) and I have even managed to lose 4lbs in the first week. My life seems to be the most normal it has been since B.I.

I have an appointment to see Dr Sree on the 28th July for my yearly check up, so I will be having a blood test any day for SVR (sustained viral response) as it takes around 3 weeks for the results to come through. Feeling as well as I do, I can't believe the virus has come back, so fingers crossed. It is just 8 days away from a year since I finished treatment, unbelievable really. Next entry to blog will be after the 28th.

Test Results

Blood Test Results

ALT = 27 @ 29.10.2007

         These take the form of bracelets or necklets bearing the MedicAlert symbol on the disc and supported by a 24 hour emergency telephone service. Each member receives an Emblem that is engraved with the wearer's main medical condition or vital details, a personal i.d. number and a 24 hour emergency telephone number that can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

When I was diagnosed hepc+ I felt strongly that I did not want to inflict this dreadful disease on anyone else (as I may unwittingly have done during the past 30+ years) so my bracelet is engraved with Hep C and Asthma.

n.b.  (added 11th May 2009)

Having got my SVR in February one of the first things I did was to remove my medic alert bracelet..... it disappeared and I never thought any more about it until my youngest daughter returned from Dubai in May and presented me with a long black box. Inside was my bracelet with the medic alert tag gone. She had had it replaced with another silver disc - this one had a slain dragon engraved on it on one side and on the other side it said "I was 1 in 12" What a brilliant present and it kinda put the lid on the whole hep c issue. Medic Alert had wanted me to return the bracelet for them to dispose of but I think its great that it has been "recycled". I have played a couple of rounds of golf and the worst was the achey feet afterwards, but a bath soon helped to ease that. I have been fishing and for some reason find that that is more tiring than golf, no idea why when I'm sat down all day! I have been power walking and using the treadmill on wet days. I tried to follow a beginners guide to running where you run 1 minute, walk 3 minutes x 10. I actually started with 30 seconds running but I did manage to double that time by the end of the first week. Halfway through the second week I hit a wall and haven't been doing any power walking since. Think it was too much too soon. So its just gentle walks with the dog at the moment. So I seem to have a few normal days and then I seem to need a rest day to recover. I'm sure the extra weight I'm carrying doesn't help matters either! I've read on the forums that everyone seems to get this weight increase or big tummy following tx so I am not by myself.

I have had an mri scan on the arm that I broke to see if I need an operation and I get the results from that on the 16th June..... am thinking it can't be very urgent if I have to wait that long so have put the thought of an operation to the back of my mind.

For almost two years I have buried myself at home because that is all I could cope with during tx and during the detox process and now I am finding it a little difficult to be the confident person I once was. I am sure this will sort itself out the more I go out and about.

And, we have finally booked a holiday! Again it is almost two years since we had a holiday so it will be wonderful and I'm really looking forward to it.

New Guestbook Entry by Jenny Brundle

Hi Lynn!
